This is Jezebel. I don't want anyone giving us a hard time about her name! We all picked our 3 favorites and put them in a hat. Dakota wanted to name her Torvanko, Thunder or Blazikin. Really. Everyone likes her name, and she's settling in.
You can see her tattoo from her surgery. She'll have a green line on her belly, so another vet would know that she's already been spayed. We've got her set up in the back hall, with a baby gate up. She's got the cat carrier, a kitty bed, some toys and scratching things. She hasn't jumped out yet, but I'm sure in a day or two she'll figure it out.Binger isn't too thrilled at the moment. They've met through the gate, with some crying and hissing. Nothing too bad, and it's to be expected. They survived the night without a fight. Jezebel stayed in the backhall, and I think Binger stayed out, or else we would of heard some commotion. We let her out into the house for a while today, so she could explore. There were a few moments between the cats that were tense, so after a while we put her back into the backhall so she could relax. She curled up in the cat carrier and is napping right now.
She's adorable, and a little fiesty with her nipping and biting, but we'll work on it.
On a sad note, Meatball passed away a few days ago. We don't know what happened, he just stopped swimming and sank to the bottom of the tank. He stayed like that for a couple days, before we had a burial at sea (you know, we flushed him)...

So, we were hanging out by the pool yesterday afternoon, reading the paper. There was an article about how 44 cats had just been removed from a local home. Most of them were feral, but some were not, and would be placed up for adoption. We'd been going back and forth about getting another cat, but we've been busy. Back and forth to the Cape, swim lessons, it's been so hot, blah blah blah... But adoptions are at 1/2 price right now, since they are overloaded with animals.
